what does he want? A3 turbo? All he will get for that money is a high mileage one for a good one your looking at about 8-10k for the 1.8 t sport (150bhp)

ouch. he wont get a turbo for his budget i think. Id wait and save up a bit more first as i dont think its worth getting the 1.6.

not much better! i wud ave about 2 grand more then he will get a nice 1.8t! thats what im after when im 21 in 6months a3 1.8t or mk4 golf 1.8t

1.8 sport isnt too bad, i wouldnt bother though id wait and get the turbo as said above. Tell him to wait til h has about 8-9k then look for an A3 1.8 turbo.
