depends wat ur set up is, if everything's runnin of amps then no, cause ur amp shud have a built in cross over(if not then deffinatly worth it) they're are in series with the phono leads, they basicly block sertain sounds out e.g. treble or bass. they do the same jobs as the ones in components

unless your serious about your system mate dont worry about it Having a seperate crossover is only worth it if you want to get a decent SQ system and want to tweak the shites outta it And like clarkie said, your amp(s) will have a basic crossover on them although personally, i wouldnt rely on the crossovers in an amp because there NOT that good, unless you have a exspensive amp etc
