however it would be relativily easy to argue against that figure. I suspect that in dry conditions a modern car will stop quicker. also you have to remember the weather and did the car have ABS

i went thru a red light last year and am now in court next friday for it. i always thought that it is legal to go thru an amber, and i have also asked many cops and they agree. but my solicitor has jst told me and showed me in the highway code that an amber is the same a red light. u may only go thru it if it is impossible to stop before the white line. i reckon this is bullshit but i best tell the courts i saw the amber light within 75yards of the line

totally off topic but slightly related beardy was once comin down hill towards a set of traffic lights with red light camera in pissin rain late at night. the lights are a crossroads..... they changed to amber on approach but due to weather conditions ect he decieded not to risk breakin so went through. not long after he got a ticket i told him to argue the case but as far as im aware he never did
as far as goin through an amber light isnt the correct term "procede with caution"

ye im goin to explain that i went thru the amber because i knew that i would not be able to stop in time and thought it wud be best to go thru.
may i add tho the coppers saw me go thru the red light i have only got a small chance of getting off this, but its worth a try

it was my understanding that if you could not stop in time then it was acceptable to go through the light. however if you could not stop in time what sort of speed were you doing?
