They were good engines them, responded excellently to drilled air box + K+N replacement, and zaust!
I know my mates 1.4 SRi nova (same block) with above mods made 91bhp on the rollers, and was sub 11 to 60. Top speed correct (ie: it read closer to 120 on dash)

i got 110 out of my 1.4 8v when i first got it but then bottom end started knockin. havent tried since lol

YEah, total vauxhall also rate the 1.6 16v as 107bhp  They dont know sh1t.
8v does 112mph yes.

i have a 1.4 spi 8v and i get a top speed of 110 - 112mph
but it aint easy i get to 112
100 mph is easy enough to get to and i do that to my car nearly every day

I have had 110mph at 6,000rpm reading on the speedo, 0-60 at trax last year came out at 11.08secs, this was with an induction kit and magnex back box and the induction kit was hot making the engine very flat! so its probably capable of 10.5! It was rolling roaded with the same mods and came out with 91.1 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 89Ib/ft at 2,700 rpm, this makes the car very quick up untill about 40-50 mph then lacking after that The standard figures are 80 bhp (82ps) @ 3,400rpm and 84.1Ib/ft @ 5,800 rpm with 0-60, 11.5 secs and a top speed of 108mph.

all i have done to my car is drilled the air box but i am used to driving it fast on the highways and we dont have many police on the highways so i get to drive it hard a lot
