Had this head unit in the Corsa, Alpine CDA-7893R.
In the Corsa as long as it had a earth and a live feed it would work but in my civic it wont.
I dont know what to do, checked all the connections, checked that there is actually power coming from the live and that the ground is a ground.
Advice anyone??

do you mean you only got two wires on it?
no cable loom at the back that plugs into the cars cable loom?

Oh yeah, plugged the ISO connectors in but the head unit has its own live and ground feed, it doesn't use the ones provided in the cars ISo block.

is there a spare wire anywhere you might need an ignition live to make it work

the alpine unit do need just a power and a neg to run, you can use either a switchable or perminant for the feed ( as the red wire going into the ISO block is the perminate for memory).
if you want a perminant for the unit then just connect the yellow into the red as well. this will work fine but wont allow the unit to draw larger currents. the other quick way to do it is to cut the switched feed in the ISO wiring and conect it t this.
basicly the yellow is ment to be a switchable ( but can be perminant) feed
the Red is the perminant
and the black is earth.
other than that try all your fuses, in the unit and the car.
hope that helps.......

Got it working, found my trusty multi meter and everything was easy.
The fault was that the red (switch feed) wasn't connevted to the right cable, found the right cable, away we went, working now.
Only downside is that i cant listen to the stereo with the ignition off but its no biggy.

Then replace the switch feed wire with a permanent live from a location of your choosing
