is it ok to have this, i have gmax rear springs and fk front both -40mm

i am thinking about buying up rated shocks for them, but cant find FK front shocks only anywhere, but can find Gmax http://www.larkspeed.com/pages/productpages/sus_gmax_shocks.html

would it be ok to use those shocks with the front fk springs ?

i used to have koni front shocks with apex springs and apex rear shocks with pi springs

generally shocks are made with dampening rates for specific spring rates. not all springs are going to be wond the same etc so your generally best using matched shocks and springs unless the shocks are adusjable.

Is there not tolerance in there though? Surely if its critical that you adjust dampers to match the spring rate, you would not want to deviate away from this on a matched spring and damper thus rendering adjustable dampers pointless on a matched pair?

sure there is going to be give and take in the system but for peace of mind it is best not to swap. it's certainly somthing I would not do unless it is tried and tested e.g bilstein and Eibach
