Instead of adding the 15mm to the linkage, I can just leave out the spacer cant I?
do I have to do anything to the mount for this?

does that work then which spacer do you take out and can you get all the gears easily

Leaving out the spacer is by far the easiest way to get the gear linkage to work, I'm talking from experience here!
Its just the block of ally that sits between the gearbox and the mounting.

If you have got the PVD kit, you should have a spacer for the rear mount. Leave it out and then shave off the lip of the mount so it sits flush on the box.
