Body found in stream
Police are examining the area where the body was found
A body has been found in a stream in the Malpas area of Newport.
Gwent Police are investigating after the body was found in a small stream on private farmland at around 1430GMT on Tuesday.
Officers were still examining the scene on Wednesday, but said it was too early to say whether the death was suspicious.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the body is that of a man or a woman.

I'm sorry I can't see a problem with seeing dead people, maybe if your un-expecting it yes I suppose it would be a shock but otherwise I would'nt have a problem with it.

Its not the fact that it was a body oliver, but the fact it was so badly decayed police cant even tell if its a man or a woman which is the scariest thing

News updated now.
Fears for woman as body found
Veronica Reynolds has been missing since August 2002
Police investigating the disappearance of a pensioner from Newport say they are keeping an open mind about the discovery of a body near her home.
Veronica Reynolds, from the Malpas area of the city, went missing in August 2002.
A farm owner found a body submerged in water on his land, around a mile from the 70-year-old's home, at 1430GMT on Tuesday.
Gwent Police were still at the site on Wednesday, conducting a forensic examination.
Officers have not yet confirmed the identity of the person found and added that they were keeping an open mind.
Gwent Police are examining farmland in Malpas.
Paul Griffiths, of Gwent Police, said: "We are keeping an open mind and obviously investigating all missing persons, initially in the Gwent force area.
"We are keeping an open mind whether or not it is linked with Veronica's disappearance."
Mrs Reynolds was described as active for her age by police following her disappearance.
A man was arrested in connection with Mrs Reynolds' disappearance in August 2003, but no charges were brought.
Oliver, seein the body didnt affect me that much. Knowing its literally on my doorstep is what bothers me.
