Jus got asked to move someone at works car cos its snowing like fek and they darent drive as the roads are white coming down the road when the fekin abs kicked in propa shit mi sen as car was slidin down sideways opposite lock with handbreak on haha nothing i could do but i managed now dint even bump it 
Anyone else hate abs in this weather?

never had it , i hate power steering aswell, dunno why just prefer to have normal rack instead of PAS

i like power steering cos i have fucked up my right arm (car surfing - dont ask)
but i HATE ABS!!! its gay!

I aint got abs on my corsa or power steering, dont need it but power steering would be better sometimes but dont bother me 
Jus other peoples cars : especially in snow

Ice confuses the ABS system. It works by releasing the brakes when it senses a skid, then re-applies them when the wheel begins to rotate again. When your are on ice it just repeats in a viscious circle so actually becomes worse than standard brakes.
It is possible to overcome this, someone on MIG suggested a good idea of wiring in a temporary switch to turn the ABS off in icy conditions.
Don't be put off ABS though, in regular road conditions which we have 99% of the year it will stop you better than anybody with a conventional brake set up could ever hope to.

i just use the gears for brakin, i do it anyway in normal conditions, hittin the brakes releases any traction u have on ice, creates friction

I agree engine braking is a good idea though, try to keep moving too if possible, trying to get going again can be an arse, I had a mare driving works RWD van today. Tiny first gear and no weight in back means it spins up proper easy!

my point exactly, if u go ice skating and u pull a skid, your gunna slide, HEY PRESTO its resolved 
as for the weather, why cant the uk be nearer the equator? less hassle

Locking the wheels in snow is better purely because of the build up of snow in front of the wheel.
ICE I'm not sure about, a turning wheel is better than a locked one.

Not if it keeps turning though. The problem with ABS is that it doesn't control the amount of breaking power, it just turns it off and on, therefore when it lets go it locks it straight back up again by applying the brake with full force, then lets go again and so on. A person with a good understanding of braking will be able to stop better in ice without ABS as they have full control and can vary the brake pressure.
