If it is in decent nick then £500 is a bargain. Most rough examples go for more than that.

I've got one with a 1.6 gearbox in it.
Terrible build quility if you think Saxos have poor interiors and rattle then try the 205
The speedos bounce all over the place and they kangeroo in traffic.
Mine revs it's nuts off because of the 1.6 box which makes it a nightmare on the motorway, 70mph is about 4500rpm.
Mine has had nine breakdowns and cost £500 in repairs in the past six months.
It also desperately needs a service as it's a sluggish as hell at the mo.

But they have awesome instant throttle responce (hence the kangerooing) and loads of low down torque, mine will easily pull in 5th at 15-20mph!
They handle well and have a great revvy engine that doesn't mind getting to the redline every now and then.
As long as it's been looked after it should last well, unfortunately they suffer badly from lift-off oversteer which is probably the cause of a lot of car and possibly driver deaths!

All in all they are unrefined and a bit of an animal.
Perfect for big smiles and lots of fun!

Standard suspension, I may get it lowered at some point if the rest of the car holds together

Need to get the CAT removed first, stuffs the performance so it's more like a 1.6 than a 1.9
Should be getting the CAT off next month as it's pre 1994 should get through the MOT without one

Doubt the CAT is my main MOT worry though
