According to book figures, the 1.2 16v is faster over all.

In standard form, the 1.2 16v wud beat the 1.5 TD 0-60, as well as @ top speed........but i reckon the 1.5 TD would still pull away from it 40-80.

But the thing is, a tuned TD wud beat the 16v at any speed. I mean looks at Kris's.......its got 100bhp and over 130lb/trq!! Not much contest there really.

Just depend wots been done really. If the 1.2 has induction kit + 17"s, but the TD is standard, then it'd probably be neck and neck!

Neither cars are of any sort of performance. If its taking over 8 seconds to 60 you might as well do 60mpg with the oil burner!

67 bhp and 97 ib/ft torque.

however from an hours fiddling and £15 on a bleed valve mine made 99 bhp and 132 ib/ft of torque, now that torque figure was only slightly less than fads 2l16v made.
plus there is lots more stuff you can do to them for hardly any money

should have roughly 130 bhp when ive put everything ive got on

bigger injectors
intercooler
gasflowed head
gasflowed inlet manifold and full 2 1/4 inch exhaust system
higher boost as its only running 10 psi at the mo.
