Is it legal to have a picture or logo on the side of a number plate??

well ive got a pic of the left of mine (a bulldog) the pigs keep tellin me it's illegal and giving me producers, but the mot people tell me it aint....

I don't want to worry you chaps but I'm sure I remember reading in the official docs that the only motif that may appear on the side of the number plate was the blue 'GB' strip, nothing else.

o well lol mines off fancy plates, i kno my font isnt legal cos its a bit skwint
