something like smooth 7 body filler will do the trick, pretty much most fillers will be ok.
if you want a smooth finish on textured plastics use abit of plastic adhesive to start with then a few good coats of high build primer.flat that down with 600 wet.

dont look a very good fit at the moment,is that how its gonna stay? you want the smallest gap possible so you dont have to use as much filler.this will cut the chances of cracks.

dot think that idea would work adam-d cos there is only a small gap, not enought to fit bolts into

the little lip thats causing the gap
the bit that held on the original rubber bit round the bumper's edge
trim it off then screw the splitter directly to the bumpers bottom edge
use small self tapping screws or small bolts only have to be 3mm wide then put washers each side to spread the load
oh and itd be much easier if you took the bumper off the car

physically remove the first 2 bolts (one under flap and then middle of arch) so that the arch comes away (isnt connected) to the bumper, make sure all bolts are off (bottom), theres also another two bolts on bumper in the wheel arch place remove them and should come off with a pull
