From experience I don't think there is an ideal either.

Relationships are all about give and take, there is no way two personalities are going to match perfectly, there is always going to be something that annoys you about another person or something you disagree with.

I think half the fun is the differences anyway, sure you have to share common interests but it would get boring if you agreed on everything.
