oh poop my timing belt snapped. anyone got any idea how much it will cost for parts and labour? its a 1.4 16v

Not much help, but it will need new valves, pistons psbly, if its bad a new head. The valves are less than a tenner each i recall

get another engine if i was you, my 1.4 8v was 200quid not sure about 16valvers tho

last time i priced one up at vaux, u have summat like 10.7 hrs and then engineers skimming etc. we have a high labour rate and its usually about 950 at our place. perfect excuse to drop a valver in

ok so if i wanted to put a 1.6 in which is esier c16xe or x16xe?
wot parts do i need?
wots this about transponder key?

and most of all cost???????

think ive got all parts covered<> i busted my 1/2" drive rachet today and damaged the spare so ill need a new un before i start

engine is arriving tomorow or saturday

full engne loom etc go for around £400 you just need engine and wiring loom/ecu as you have every thing else
fitting a garage will charg bout £150 max so £600 odd total and its still £300 cheaper on fixing your old engine

oh and you will need a x16xe

is the loom not the same, can u not just swap the engine and ecu?

so i dont need a transponder key or wotever it is?
