Yes granted he is probably the most commercially suscessful but there are far better lyricists about these days, try listening to the following artists which are true Hip Hop innovators imo:

Cannibal Ox
Mr. Lif
Aesop Rock
RJD2
Roots Manuva

and if you're going to go a little bit more commercial you've got to include The Beastie Boys and Mos Def.
