Getting one for my birthday but don't have much idea of whats around at the mo. Want a compact one, pocket size, nothing to big.

Was thinking of the casio ones like this?

Just had a look at it. Looking for something a bit smaller. Quite like the look of the Casio QVR 40, 4.0m pixels and quite small!

Minolta Dimage XT, 3MP, 3 Optical zoom, voice recorder, movies with sound and limitless size only by the mem card. Also a webcam and a tiny size, I have one great cam.

I've been looking at this one. Seems to have all the features of ones for twice its price, just not the best make.

Optical zoom is the physical movement of the lens, Digital is what the chip inside the lens will think it's gonna look like.

Basically with it not having optical, it's the chip inside the Camera doing all the work, therefore, the picture on the LCD will be shite.

You will basically have no useful zoom.

The point i'm trying to make is that you need a camera with optical zoom

I would say that optical will probably be better quality on PC to, but like i say, not sure
