My existing insurance company(CIS) has cancelled my policy because of the 2ltr, I now have a week to find insurance
I've had a look through old posts and HIC come up quite a bit but they quoted me £1700 today, so they can get bent. Liverpool Victoria would not give me a quote as a 2litre Corsa did not come up on their system
Who else can I look at who will touch engine transplants, I'll try Adrian Flux tomorrow.
I'm 22 (23 this weekend) clean license, no accidents a BB postcode and 4years NCB. I've seen younger people getting more like £1200 with less NCB, if I could get it down to something like that I'd be reasonably happy.

It better hadn't be, if £1700 is the best quote I get the car is going, I can insure an turbo Impreza for less than that, a Clio 172 is just under 1k.

Was gonna say £1700 seems a lot for your age/ncb. I don't think I'll be doing a 2ltr conversion this year

the reason it came up with they couldent find a 2.0 corsa is cos they never soddin made one
u have to say what the car was origionaly, then say in the moddified section it has a 2.0 transplant, try again

No shit Sherlock
I didn't really have much time to go through it again as I was at work, I explained the engine had been swapped for a 2litre from an Astra, I suspect she was blonde

Really? I got a really arrogant letter saying they were cancelling my policy as they weren't in the market to cover modified vehicles.

I'll try giving the local agent a ring tomorow, the letter came from a Mr S Burkhill, Senior Underwriter. He sounds a right tw@t, saying Vauxhall did not see fit to manufacture a Corsa with 2tr engine and as such they are not prepared to provide insurance.

I heard a rumour that they had got into trouble for doing this. They were insuring cars as something else in order to get cheaper quotes through, alledgedly

Thats more like it, I don't think I'm in a particularly bad postcode but 3 years extra NCB and no points should cancel that out.

Inusrance has gone up!!
Last year I paid £1450 fully comp on my 1.2 16v Sxi - that was 18, with pass plus and no convictions or accidents...
This year 19, 1 yr NCB, pass plus I got quotes of £1500->£1800 ? ?? WTF?
on a bloody 1.2 !!!
I've got TPFT with adrian flux for £850 now, f*ck it - TPFT is the way forward now... next year I'll do it that way even if I get a decent fast car...
