Having a bit of trouble with me gear knob, the thing wouldn't come off so i decided to go at it with a stanley knife.

Got a lot of the rubber off, so much that i can see metal, but it doesnt look as though this will fit into my new knob.

I heard that you can just hacksaw the lot off? where would i do this? and where is the hole that i need for the allen key that secures the knob on.

I have some piccies here, would someone be able to host them for me ?

Cheers

Dave

what you should do id get as much of it off till you can see a jagged pattern like that of a file, this is what the gearknob is designed to fit over, surprised though, i just twisted and pulled at the same time and mine came off after 2 go's, watch you dont hacksaw too much off, i hacksawed 1cm off mine and found out it was too much so i had to stuff the top of the gearknob with this rock hard putty shite i found in my shed

it makes no difference - can still put it in reverse - just goes straight in!! takes a bit of getting used to tho as 1st and reverse are so close!!
