hi i have just brocken my car AGAIN!! i am going to have to take the 1.0l out to mend whatever has gone wrong in the gear box, but should i put the 1.0l back in mended or put i 1.4 16v in that i have just been offered for £100.
i know u are all thinkin don't be a puff and put a 2.0l in but i cant afford to buy, insure or run one of them just yet; which makes me think about leavein in the 1.0l for a couple more years and then putting a 2.0l lump in.
has anyone got any ideas, or experiences with the 1.4 16v?
cheers all

1.4 16v, good engine, not worth it though.
1.6 minimum. 1.4 just doesn't ahve the torque. Very good when its modified, but u'll need to spend sh1tloads to get it to XE performance.
1.6 is the best middle ground. Responds jsut as well to tuning as the 1.4, but with a lot more torque (not much on paper, but it is on the road).
