Firstly i would like to state..... I'M ONLY WONDERING.
If anyone has done a respray on their car themselves? People always ask and ask and ask but no ones ever posted word back. So has anyone out there actually sprayed their own car and what way did it turn out?
This should be interesting

Yes, people probably have resprayed their whole car using rattle cans, but the finish would be poor.
It would also be expensive and time consuming, For example......:
At around £4 a can, it takes at least 2 large cans of primer, 2 large cans of paint + laquer if required, and thats JUST to do one front wing. So u'd be looking at around £16-20 just for the paint, then all the other materials needed (sand paper, t-cut, polish, polishing clothes, panel wipes).....so probably £30 to do just a wing.........then theres ur time having to rub down/filler/clean/spray/polish up etc
Thats £30++ to do one wing, which is infact, the smallest panel u will find on a car. I'l estimate it to still costing well over £500 to spray a car DIY. Now thats not far off cheap but pro bodyshop prices.....so is it really worth it??
If, like Kris TD, u have a compressor, space to spray in and the knowledge then by all means............but with cans......nah.

I spray with a compressor, you can't get the paint to come out and run together with cans, it always leaves a orange peel effect.

To go back to my original question............
I am not asking for advise on it. i am wondering if anyone has been daft enough to use cans.
I'm getting mine done by a mate in stranraer for next to nothing. Im not considering doing mine, cant be arsed. Just want replies from people that have, out of interest.
