Now then mate ive got a couple of JL W3's myself and i can def recommend them for quality, price and volume.
First thing im wonderin is are u planning to just hav 1 sub or are 2?
The reason i ask is this wil determine which voicecoil version of the W3's u buy, eg. dual 2 ohm or 4 ohm voicecoils etc.
If your only having 1 sub your best with a dual 4 because it means you can run a 2 ohm load to the amp you buy. This is a pretty standard impedience that most good amps will run at while producing good power.
If your thinking of having 2 subs your best with dual 2 ohm voicecoils. This is because u wil b able to wire them to run at 2 ohms aswell.
I made the mistake of buying 1 dual 4 ohm sub then a month down the line wanting another. This meant when i bought another dual 4 to go with it i had to run at either 1 or 4 ohms. 4 ohms isnt enough to get the power i wanted from my amp but the problem with running at 1 ohm is not all amps can do that (not 1ohm stable)
Sorry for going on mate, if ya need anymore info on that stuff u2u me. I dnt claim to no everything but wil try and answer any questions.
As for an amp the new Alpines r pretty good. A mate of mines got a 2 channel 1 (forget model number but cost him around £200) powering 2 W0's. Even they rock, made me want the W3's, lol
