about £400 i think
only reason i keep looking for cheap dbilas ones is its the only company that do the 1.2 16v engine.

erm... I believe the dbilas one is a lot more than the velos'...
for a start, velo's is just a new inlet, the dbilas is a new inlet and inlet pipes that go to the inlet ports - hence replacing more and getting a bigger power gain - also I think the dbilas kit (at least from regal) comes with a uni chip and mapping... which is worth £400 on its own.
It's not just the 1.2 16v one thats this expensive, the ones for 1.4 / 1.6 from dbilas are the same price as its package - rather than a single thing.
Blackula (from this site) got this and got his car rolling roaded at 105 bhp with it all on, and that was on a standard exhaust + filter.
75 standard... to 105 = 30 bhp gain! velo's etc only give 10-15 bhp without chip. Then cat back exhaust will add another 5 bhp, it's a easy way to make your 1.2 16v have about 110 bhp for cheap insurance. plus its not that common ... let me know how you get on agent blue.
Also - the people who chuck a new engine in is fair enough, but generally people with 1.2 16v's have quite low mileage - so don't really want to chuck their nice low mileage engine out to put a 80000 mile + engine in (even if it is a 1.6)
Seriously AgentBlue u2u me and tell me what its like? (where are you from? I'd love to see this in the flesh)

The car is up for MOT at the end of the month so I will fit it after that is out of the way. But I will get the car on the rollers to see what it does standard then again afterwards. Dbilas send only the manifold and fitting parts the ECU upgrade is free but I will have to sent them my ECU so might wait till later in the summer for that, I will post graphs and pics as the work is done.
I know the car will never be a drag racer but Insurance over here in ireland is a killer and if I had a car that was too quick I'd loose my lisence in no time. I just want some fun in my shopping kart.
The car is a standard looking silver sxi ,
stuff done so far:
2.0l 16v cav front brakes
<35mm Eibach pro kit & springs
poly bushes
griffith engineering short hift gear linkage
goodridge steel brake lines
piper 2" cat back ss pipe
k&n panel filter
Steinmetz grille
looks quite crud but its fun to drive

Dbilas claim a gain of 25bhp with ecu upgrade on standard engine with normal airbox. not too sure on torque.
also;
A company called KEMPOWER.DE do a cam package that they claim will give 20bhp with unichip on a standard engine and raise the torque up to 1.4XE level so I will be looking into these also (£450 for the cam kit by the way)

I wish dbilas would sell the inlet without the chip package... but I think it may be needed... coz otherwise you could get about 10-15 bhp for about £300 ish quid - which would please me.

the manifold on itself is a big bitch made of cast alloy and looks very well made Dbilas get around the issue by saying the ecu upgrade is free with the kit. (I've tried all the excuses)
kit looks impressive though but for the dodgey english in the instruction leaflet.

a member called blackula managed to buy his dbilas inlet manifold on its own 2nd hand on german ebay for not too much - then bought a uni chip after....
Interesting how they say the ecu upgrade is free - and you have to send it off to them to upgrade? they probably map it as a standard car with the kit - then you get it back and can get it re-rolling roaded and mapped with your mods...
Also interested in those cams... if they geniunely can increase your torque, it should be able to increase your power - naturally from the way power is worked out.

flash memory upgrade, no hardware added just new software imprinted I wanted it on CD-rom but they were having none of it. done on the car through the serial port. Might as well get it done as its included but as you say, its outdated the minuite you do something else to the car

Did you actually get a uni chip sent to you? when you first said about it I got the impression u meant they don't send u a uni chip at all, but instead take ur normal ECU and add the piggy back uni chip onto it with default settings...
Also mate, Get your car RR'd straight away to make sure you aint got any problems like when I had my Air flow meter problems...
You should get around 75 bhp standard, so with your exhaust etc I'd expect similar to me 81, 82 bhp?
