does any extra wiring have to be done for the conversion? if so what?

Can think of it really, maybe the power loom is different (there is two looms one for engine, one for power). Think it might be the fuel lines that are different.

Never seen a 16v engine so don't know. If you get all the wiring from the old car, you can't go wrong. Best off sticking your head around the engines so you can see the difference.
