If i had 4900 rpm on the F20 box in 5th with 17s, what sort of speed would i have been going? My speedo cable is broken till tomorrow, just wondering how fast ive been so far!

2,000 x 2 = 4000 take 2 '00' off = 40mph
3,000 x 2 = 6000 take 2 '00' off = 60mph

nope really have a look,

5,000 revs x 2 = 10,000 take 2 '00' off = 100mph

trust me on this i have had no speedo for ages so always work on the revs.
a F20 will not let you do say more then about 130
even on redline 6,500 revs x 2 = 13,000 take 2 '00' = 130mph

trust me on this
it luckyB's just over 140 with a 250bhp 2.1 lump with custom final drive on gearbox i can not see a standard Astrawith standard F20 doing anywhere near that

get your speedo fixed and you will see i am right
or go on Mig and they will tell u the same

just read that the book top speed of the GTE is 137. I will get speedo fixed but i still wont trust it cos i know what they are like! Id prefer to take your word for it.

the limiter is around 6,800

So
6,800 x 2 = 13,800 take 2 '00' off = 138mph

which works out max speed
most book values have not been tested its just what it could do

2,000 rpm in 5th was almost exactly 50mph not 40 as i expected it was going to be . Havent managed to do 4,900 rpm again cos my mates car wont go that fast

You sure 6,800 x 2 isnt 13,600
