It was my decision. I have been with her 2 years in May since we were both 17, but feel the need to be single and have more time to myself. Had a break back in February, and ever since have spent 3 night a week together.
She phoned me up this morning saying I was making a mistake of my life. Started crying and stuff saying we should work things out.
I still feel the same way and wanna be single now, but feel really bad for her. It would be a bad idea getting back with her just because I feel bad for her though.
Going away this year with the lads, and I know I won't be faithful. I find it hard to stay faithful these days as it is.
Why are things never simple?

I was in the same position as you Alex, was with my gf for 2 n half years, but felt the need to be single and go out with mates etc, so I split with her. Went on hol for a week with mates and started going out most nights too. But I soon realised that I had made a big mistake as I really did miss her and just didnt feel right without her, so we got back together and have been together for 3.5 years and are now engaged. I reckon u should go ona break for a while and see how u both get on.

Well I cant understand why you can't just say to her you would see her less if you want to spend more time with yourself or mates.
Seems a bit selfish to break someones heart IMO

Well from what he said the only reason he is breaking her heart is because he is going on a lads holiday and thinks he might cheat.
I'm not bitter, just know what its like from a girls point of view

why not?!
women take relationships more seriously than men do, men need to wise up and stop just thinking about themselves all the time for once

If he didn't feel right about the relationship he done the right thing breaking it off imo. Whats the point in trying to make a go of something you're not completely happy with, there's no point him being miserable just for her benefit.
Plus mate you're 19 for christs sake, go and live you're life a little before all the commitment lark

Fair enough if he isnt happy, but he should say that when he posted above.
From what I read his reasons for dumping her are because he wants time to himself (something he could sort out with her) and that hes going on a lads holiday and thinks he will cheat.
Which to me seems very selfish.
