Am trying to sell my corsa and the engine was about to get a few bits and bobs done cause its a bit rough...but the paintwork was alright.

Now some bastards keyed it so the bodywork is fucked aswell.

Am a painter so i can respray the car for cost but its unwanted cost and hassle...so if am doing this am gonna keep the car.

Therefoe i was thinkin might aswell get a new engine in her aswell.

I heard the 2.0 8v conversion is easier than the 16v one and the engine shudnt be much over £100.

I aint bothered about a lot more performance increase, but with an exhaust and filter wot sorta speeds/0-60 times u reckon it'd push?

Also where do u get the fitting kits and is there out else i need to buy?

if ya gunna be going for the 2.0 8valver you might aswell go for the Cav SRI-130.....as the name says...it has 130BHP wer as the normal 2.0 8valver has 115bhp

if you wer to go for the normal 2.0 8valve you might aswell just get the 1.6 16v or a gsi engine out of a corsa....which will be easier than putting a 2.0 litre in .. plus the 1.6 has a lot of tuning potential....a simple inlet manifold will see you with an extra 20 ponies.....

May aswell go for the 2.0 16v mate. Lee mitchell and beardy off here chanrge 1500 quid. 20 more BHP on tap and more tuning potential.
2.0 16v will be 0-60 of around 7 i think with a 15sec-ish 1/4 Mile, 140ish top end

Well i aint paying 1500, where i work theres a garage full of qulified mechanics so am sure it cud be done cheaper.

Wud the 115bhp 8v lump not be much quicker then? I kno its only 10 horse more but wud it not be a better performer?

I jus fancy a change rather than the 1.6

the 2.0 8v wouldnt be much quicker if at all than the 1.6, as the engine is a little heavier so cancels out the extra performance!

As stated before normal 2.0 engine is a waste of tme - go for 1.6 16v

Duno why so many ppl slate the sri 130 engine, ok its down on 20bhp - but it puts out more toque then the redtop.

If your looking for massive power and tuning go for redtop.

If your just looking at having the edge over other cars i'd go for the sri 130 engine, cheaper to maintain, insure, and put in and puts out a lot of torque low down
