Taken from MIGWEB. Just another case showing that Regal are th cowboys of the Vauxhall trade.

Went to pick up a valver Nova on the weekend, with all work/receipts etc from Regal.

The bloke took it Regal with the XE already in the car with a set of Twin 45s with a BRAND NEW SBD inlet and throttle linkage etc...
(No loom etc)

Regal said that the conversion wasnt good enough and recommended that he get them to do it 'properly'! £2k later it was in....

He then gets a call from them explaining that his carbs were wrecked beyond repair and no good, so they would have to fit a loom and Regal 'Power Cap' (£350)

He gets the car back and it breaks down in a week and he has to tow it 100 miles to his house! He complains....

Regal explain he will need to take it back to them on a trailer (even though they picked t up firstly)

Bloke ran out of money so car was left, and he was left with a bill for just under £3000 and NO CARBS!!

Thats right Regal kept them and the maifold and the linkages etc!!!!!

Just for discussion! I know he should have gone nuts and stormed the place, but he lost all faith in the car!

Yeah, cos i'd take my car with twin carbs down there only for them to say they are fucked (errr how???????) and fit an everso nice powercap.

WTF??? They make me SO angry. Even that guy with the Z20LET got charged £12k to fit it in his Corsa C.

They are a joke.

12K? More fool the guy who paid 12k for the conversion. The guy who did my wiring has a C LET, he did it himself, but I doubt he would of charged 3k!
I'll never use regal, CossVaux and Wallace Performance for me

Surely this has to be the dumbest man in the world though?

Firstly if the engine was already in, why the hell would you pay them £2k to re-fit it? If it weerent in properly, then surely thats down to engine mounts, which are a couple of hundred quid, plus fitting, so what £500 being generous?

If he wanted carbs, why in hels name would he let them fit a powercap Brand New Webbers are about £600 the pair off the top of my head, but you could proberbly get the ones he had re-furbed for a couple of hundred.

The fact he left the garage without the Carbs is pure madness. No-one in their right mind would do that, even if there apparently fucked, you'd keep the manifold at least being as it was brand new.

I know its still a disgrace what they did, but if you put your head between your legs with your pants down in the middle of a gay bar, you cant be surprised if you end up getting bummed .

The company should not be taking the advantage over its customer like this.

I think the guy was a plonker, but this is a disgrace. Theres so many other stories and facts about regal im suprised they are as big as they are.

does it not seem a bit odd that a bloke with 12k to spend on an engine puts it in a corsa c?
