Minimum good GCSEs, 28UCAS points (AAB @ A Level) and a 1st/2.1 from a red brick Uni, usually in a relevant subject area i.e. Economics.

hydraulic engineer also electro/mechanical, need nvq 2/nvq 3 most of city and guilds, btec 1st certificate, onc national certificate (A level equivelant) and then hnc/hnd if u want more behind ya but most company's respect a onc took 5 years of training to get all that
