ok.how would an exhaust system be along the lines of.
CAT BACK.no centre section 0-----------0 just Y section the two tail pipes on to the pipes.if u know what i mean lol.would it affect performance due to back pressure?

simple answer.................No as the majority of pressure is between the manifold and front of the CAT.

ok.ive got a de cat pipe aswell.so no cat on my car at the moment.so therefore would have to have cat on?

Won't have an adverse effect. Puttin one one my 1.2 has preserved all of its precious few ponies.

believe me, it would be noticeable on a 1.2 as well, my cat went, it was a nightmare thru lack of back pressure. No problem with the centre section. With you havin a bigger engine, I'd guess itd cope ok with a straight thru.
