buy a donor car (i got an astra GTE with 72k on the clock, full service hisotry) fo £750, , so all you need on top of that is the fitting kit (£480), clutch (if needed) and cam belt change. I sold the chassis of the GTE for £150, the digidash for £50 (hopefully) and alloys for £100 so made a lot of it back that way. You can do the front brake upgrade yourself for free if you have some spanners (if i can do it then you can) and the rear brake conversion is also free if you are pretty handy, or £100 for the fitting kit from PVD with soneone with some basic welding skills.

then you will be looking around the £480 mark for the fititng ki (mine is from cossvaux) which includes engine mounts, drive shafts and hubs. You can get the fribt disks and calipers from a scrappy from around £60 probably, then new pads and if you want a new clutch (around £100 for a decent one, fitting can be done yourseld quite easily when the engine is out, and about £25 from cam belt kit (same for fitting)
