just bought a 106 gti and the clutch is slipping. does any1 have any ideas how much it'll cost for a clutch and fitting roughly??
wish i kept my corsa now!!!!

500 for a low powered FWD car!!!! 
100 or so for the kit, fitting.... does it have an access panel or is it a drop the box out job...... price labout accordingly

New clutch kit from ECP is £90 roughly.
The maybe a few hours labour for fitting.

I know when i had the clutch cable repaired on my white GTI they said it was an absolute bitch of a job and it took 3 times the labour that i payed for it to be done!
I have a spare clutch plate in my garage

the clutches on french cars are a nightmare job. for example 306's is virtually an engine out job....i kid u not 
Be prepared for the worst m8 the parts may be cheap but labours the killer on these badboys!

I paid £1200 for the box to be fully reconditioned including LSD and a new clutch plate!! Your must have been a slag of a job to cost that much!!

how can u tell if the clutch is slippin?
well when im changing gear the revs are flying up but taking a while for the car to move if u get my drift, ive been quated £180 all in is that any good?

o fuck my old mans golf is starting to do this, plus it was smelling abit last nite, recon its a slippy clutch

makes it a tad easier when the engine is lieing on the floor tho id hazard a guess at!!!!
