Just finishing this weeks project, and its my first time at propper spraying (compressor, gun etc)
Just got to the lacquoring part, was just wondering which is the best way to get a really deep gloss and do you have to compound rub between coats?
quite urgent as the first coat is drying as i type

basicully just spray the laquer on as u have the base coat. the only thing you will have to watch out for is runs as Laquer is generally thinner than the base coat and will run far easier so basicully speed up ur side to side motion slightly!
U wont need to compound or sand inbetween the coats of laquer unless u get runs and even then rubbing compound must not be used (rubbing compound shud only be used as a finisher)
Laquer also dries slower than base coat so my advice would be spray the laquer and leave to harden over night, then if u want to put on another layer gently flat it off with 1200 and spray again!

dont compound, tcut it or polish it until after at least a week because the paint will need time to harden otherwise the finish will be impaired!

I just been spreying my bumpers in my shed, first time ive done it properly with compressor+gun etc etc. I done the laquer today and it ran
gonna wait until tomorrow for it to harden and rub it with 1200 grit wet and re do it, hope it comes out okay coz i really cant be arsed rubbing th e whole thing down and starting over again with the basecoat
