how much more would it cost to re-build a LET rather than a x14xe? if any? my 1.4 sport leaks oil, not sure where from but suspect head gasket is in the back of my head. so i was wondering weather it'd be worth gettin the 1.4 re-built, or go for the let which ive always dreamed of

u2u craigpcg off here mate he had a full re-build done on his LET before it was put into his corsa

and im currently rebuilding mine after two valves decided they nolonger liked working in my beastie and tried to leave grrrrr.

its expensive mate, very expensive

ok, ill give you a list of what im replacing and it may give you an idea....

New pistons £550 for 4
Rebore and facing of the block £120
new valve guides, valve seats recut, skimmed head £200
cambelt £26
tensioner 1 £98
tensioner 2 £89
water pump £126
new big end bearings £36
new Main bearings £86
steel head gasket £25

then there are the head bolts, Full gasket set, followers that i havent got a price on yet..

oh yeh and my valves are gonna cost me £48 for the exhaust EACH
£22 for the inlet each...

yer, but it'd be worth it. i was thinkin about a new car, like a ibiza cupra turbo or summut, then i thought, i wanna embarres scoobys without them expectin it

lmfao at those prices! You really paid that for bits?

You can get a cam belt kit for about £80, waterpump about £25, main bearings for less, 'performance' big end bearings for less...

www.autovaux.co.uk, dealers have a laugh.

X14XE and C20LET parts cost about the same.
