As above.
How will it compare to the 130bhp I had in the GSi engine.
Are 2ltr's much quiker off the mark?
Those that have had one fitted, are you happy with its performance.
What scope is there to increase bhp once fitted?
Ta chucks

Cant afford the LET unfortunately.
If there's room to tune the 2ltr Im sure there will be plenty horse power for my liking
Is it just you're engine that's unreliable then Adam, or is a common thing with this type of conversion?
Thats the only thing bothering me really about it.
The GSi engine never let me down once in the five years I had it
Hope it stays the same with the new engine
Time will tell.
Im sure if there's any teething trouble, Cozvaux will sort it
160bhp satandard
And more on top of that too if I choose
Cant wait till a week on Wednesday

Yeah, will do chuck.
Mind you, I'm sure Cozvaux will point me in the right direction when it comes to it.
Think I might be clenching my arse cheeks then when I go to pick it up and put me foot down on the slip road to the M1

Somthing like 200bhp on TB's too
Basically, the C20XE engine does about 150bhp in the Astras, Cavs and Calibras. You take it out of that and ditch the SFI air box, and replace it with a Powercap so the engine actually fits, this also gives the engine an extra 5-10bhp so you get a rough 160bhp Can't wait til I do mine, the donor cars coming this week

You doing it yourself chuck?
They mentioned something about a powercap when I dropped the car off, but tbh, engines are a bit beyond me and I didnt have a clue what they were on about
Gonna have to listen a bit more now so I can talk folk through my engine as well as I do with the ICE and bodywork
Also said that the cat would go and it would be a straight through pipe ?
What will that do?
I dropped off a disposable camera so they can take work in progress pics for me

Yea, I'm going to get my hands dirty and rebuild the 2.0 and fit it!
You shouldn't need a de-cat pipe... Basically a De-Cat pipe replaces the catalytic convertor on your car. This means that your car will probably have exhaust emissions that are too high to pass an MOT test, this isn't good! Unless you want to tune the car up loads, its best to try and keep the cat

Ta chuck. I'll ask again about the cat.
Good on ya fitting it yourself. How long dya reckon its gonna take you?
I dont mind getting my hands mucky, but I know my limits and engines are definately one of them
I'l get it on the rollers at Well Lane soon as to get a reading.
Its gonna be a bit bling bling under my bonnet too.
Are you dressing it up too, or just fitting it?
EEeeee I cant wait to get it back now to see what she's got.
I hope the weight of the install and the 17's dont hold it back too much

The preformance is quite impressive at first but you wont really notice it till you race against more powerful cars and keep up/beat them like the type R, uk scooby R32 golf (yes its true), then you'll notice what kind of power you've got to play with, the most impressive thing about the 2ltr is the amount of torque you have.

I reckon it will take a week or two, i'll take my time doing it in evenings and weekends so I do it right first time, hopefully. Got a few plans on how to dress it up too, involving black and silver paint, silicone hoses, carbin goodies and chrome... Gonna be a mean looking engine for me mean car...

Pics during and after then?
Best takin your time over an engine arent ya. Owt fitted wrong and thats the car gone. Where you gonna source any parts you need? Have you tried Autovaux before for parts. Cheaper than the dealers
Seen the workshop chuck. They have expanded since I was there last time for the rear disc conversion.
It had four cars I think in all being worked on.
All the equipment was there that you'd need. They've got plenty of work on .
Why dont you go down and check it out.
I'm sure Will will show you round.
If you go this week you'll see mine there

I'll give you Autovuax number anyways. Try them out with a price comparison. You may find it cheaper there. 01924 376003.
Have you already got the fiting kit from PVD or is it on order?
Hopefully it will be OK, but there has been a lot of bad press on here about them lately. You dont want to be let down do ya.
Maybe source a back up from somewhere just in case yeah
'chuck' was directed at matt
but you are all 'chucks' when it comes to Yorkshire lingo
Yeah, pop down Weds sometime and see how mines coming on and let me know. I'll be going down myself at somepoint just to have a nosey
