you only really need one coating of that clear plastic primer, then use the hibuild stuff (coloured, usually grey or white or yellow) over the top.

if everythings been coated in plastic primer then ur set to paint m8, if it was a coloured plastic primer then u wont need to paint anymore primer as this in itself is the primer!

get painting

i neded to spray more primer to cover the orange peel affect on my center console, mfd etc etc.

i decided to get filler primer and have used that to fill in the O Peel affect and is now quite smooth.

thanks for your replys. i'll post pics once the bits have been sprayed.

no, cos the rattle cans he will be using are single pac too so it wont react.
most probably cos you havent cleaned it properly or flatted it off well enough.

finger prints can fuck it all up.

oh, icy, if its already painted then you dont need to prime it, scotch brite off the surface so it goes dull then spray straight over the top.

sounds to me like u have a silicone contaminant on the plastic, probebly caused by spraying polish or a similer product on to the plastic to make it shine.

silicone is evil and u must makesure it is all gone before spraying.......just sand till ya hands bleed then spray ya primer shud b fine then
