Is it worth the money? Will it improve the handling much while still using the
standard shocks? Or will there still be lots of roll and understeer?

Hope you don't mind a really hard ride though! Transforms the stance of the car.

Ta Mav, what size wheels/tyres are you using with yours?
Will the springs make much difference if I keep the original 13 inch steelies?
(I don't care 2 hoots what it looks like, just how it handles)

At the moment there's no mods on the car at all, it's just how it was
when it left the factory. I want to improve the cornering and reduce
the high-suspension bouncing around.

Eibach say that the prokit springs are designed to work with the original dampers (pvd web site and eibach web sites both say that).

But will the handling be much better if I keep the original 13"
steel wheels? Or do will I have to fix something like 16's as well
as the new springs?

I had my Eibach Pro-Kit on 13"s for about 6 months. The car looks great stance-wise and handles like its on rails. I'm not joking! Putting bigger wheels on slightly raises the centre of gravity therefore decreases handling if anything.

Putting 16" on will mean a lower profile tyre - which in turn means a harder ride as theres less rubber between you and the road.

I'd highly recommend springs and dampers as a kit rather than springs alone.

Right I'm going to go for the springs. Rails is what I want.

So Mav, what dampers did you use with the eibachs on the 13's?
Are the eibach dampers any good?

I run eibach pro springs with bilstein sprintline dampers. This combo works very well indeed, but is quite dear. You get a better discount if you buy the whole eibach kit together, though it is generally agreed the bilstein dampers are slightly better.

I used Eibach dampers. I bought it all at once.

OK, I've ordered the springs to start off. Not enough wonga available to
go the whole hog. Since my shocks are in good nick and just 4 years old
and eibach web site says pro-kit is designed for and tested with the
oem shocks, I'm going to try this first. Might shell out for the good
shocks later on, depends on how well it works with the oem shocks.

For anyone who's interested, here's a couple of quotes from the eibach
website on compatibility of prokit springs with oem shocks and wheels/types:

What shocks should I use with an Eibach spring system?
Answer:
Basically, Eibach spring systems are designed to work with original equipment shocks provided they are in good working condition. Aftermarket performance shocks - especially the Eibach Pro-Damper - will increase the overall performance of your suspension and are a recommended complement to the Eibach spring systems.

Question:
Will it be necessary to have my vehicle re-aligned after the installation of an Eibach spring system?
Answer:
Yes. After the installation of an Eibach spring system, the alignment of a vehicle should always be checked and in most cases adjusted. For further information on alignment, please see our general mounting instructions on the next page.

Question:
Will I have proper tire clearance with a “plus size” tire and wheel package after installing an Eibach spring system?
Answer:
All Eibach spring systems are designed and tested in combination with the original equipment wheels and tires. Installation of an Eibach spring system does not alter the original range of wheel travel and as a result, can never be the cause of clearance problems. It is best to work with a reputable wheel and tire dealer who is knowledgeable in the proper wheel size, width and offset that is correct for your vehicle in order to prevent clearance problems caused by improper tire and wheel packages.
