Has anyone done high mileage on the 1.0L 12V engine? I've done 50K and mine's
running fine, I wondered how well it stands up if I go up to 100K or beyond.
Anyone done big miles on one of these? What sort of things go wrong,
if anything?

ive got a corsa im currently repairing T reg 1.0 12v gls on 92k.
It sounds sweet as a nut and their are no rattles or nasty thuds coming from it and no blue smoke or loosing fluids etc.
However it has got a full vauxhall service history so its been looked after!

I think the X10XE and X12XE are fecking SOLID lumps. MY X12XE has just hit 55K ive had it since new and its fantastic for what it goes through, could do with a cam-chain renewall but other than that no noises and doesnt burn oil, plugs are in A1 condition....

I had some hassle with mine earlier with broken cat bracket and idle control
stepper motor broke, but for the last year or so it's been really sweet.
I haven't had it serviced by vorxall coz I think they don't do anything,
but I do fill it with mobil 1 (it runs a lot easier in the winter I noticed
I think because lower viscosity) - I'm gonna try vaux fully syn next coz lots
cheaper for similar grade oil - and every 6 months I've been giving it a
few tanks of optimax which seems to really improve responsiveness, I think
it's cleaning the injectors and rest of the engine. I never lose any coolant
or oil and currently getting around 58 mpg which is bloody amazing.
So I think I'm going to run it into the ground coz it's a good cheap car,
just wanted to check they don't all start going wrong at 80K or something.
The only thing I can think of I'll have to sort at some stage is new
timer chain.
