dont wanna do nova in fact im sterrin away from a vaux as ill wanna put the bits on the corsa not too keen on pugs... was thinkin maybe a ford...

Go for an XR3i, can be picked up for very little money, quite a good handling car and you can kit it out with the RS goodies. LSD, turbo, suspension etc...

To do it properly yeah, but it will cost less than buying an authentic RS if you put the engine in yourself.
Or you could just chuck in a 2.0 Zetec out of a written off focus etc...
The focus st170 has a tuned 2.0 in it so there is a lot of potential for the engine.

XR2 with 1.6 RS lump and a Zetec bottom end , stripped and you have a crazy little track car.
