I feel like such a mug, last night my credit card got skimmed.

For those of you that dont know what credit card skimming is, basically it's where people stick a cash card reader over the bit where you put your card in a cash point so it still looks like a normal cash point. Then they come up to you acting all drunk or just try and look over your shoulder and watch you type in your pin. They type your pin in their mobile phone, take the cash card reader off the cashpoint, connect it up to a computer, create a copy of your cash card, go to a cash point, use your pin number and take cash out.

They had thought of everything, there were two cash points next two one another, one had the skimmer on and one didnt, to make sure no-one noticed the different they stuck an out of order sign over the bit you put you card in on the other one

Luckily afterwards i went back past the cashpoint and noticed it looked different, the skimmer had gone so i cancelled my card and told the police who were about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

A warning to you all, ive seen on the news about skimming and thought i would never fall for it, but its easier said then done.

Rant over, James

If there's someone standing over my shoulder, I won't type my PIN in......plus I tend to put my wallet over my hand aswell, touch-typing is useful in more than one way.
