i know it sounds new but, how do you find out whether a car is 8v or 16v, once known ill delete. ta

What car and what engine?

Cars from 93 to 96 roughly are all 8v except the 1.6 16v GSi. After that it was a mix of 8v and 16v engines.

16v engines have ecotec written under the bonnet

n reg corsa b, it looks quite similiar to that engine, but not exact same.

8v I'd say. We had a N 95 Corsa and it was 8v. Absolutely awful car with no power steering either!

depends what 8v it is dunnit, obviously an SRi will be quicker
