nah, i've never used new bolts either and not had problems.

bare in mind that you need a swan neck spanner to get the top mount off. a flat or even offset spanner wont cut it here. standard size is 18mm, the new one may be 19mm or whatever.

don't forget to take off the clip for the abs sensor wiring if you have abs. needs to be swapped from the old strut to the new. should just be held on with a hose clip.

Only reason you would use new bolts is they are easier to put on and off again. I got new bolts, and its made it easier to change the suspension again and again. I have done it that much I changed the hub and spring/strut in 45minutes.

i bent my 18mm swan neck spanner trying to get the subframe off of my old calibra. so much so that you could no longer get a 1/2" drive socket onto the piston end.

searched a few places to get the 18mm one that i needed, but most places didn't even have a set.

had to get a whole set in the end from the first place i went to that had them. this was Allparts (think it's a nationwide motor factor chain) cost £7.20 for a set of 5or6 draper swan neck ringers

The bolts will be available at vauxhall, although a bit pricey. I think I got a set of them for around £10.

you dont really need to worry bout a swan neck spanner for the top strut nut, just by a 20 quid power wrench from argous, has a half inch drive and comes with a right size socket neway, this is what i used, when other spanners were bending.

yes but if ya use a socket the whole thing is gonna keep spinning.

u need a 18mm swan neck spanner to hold the nut and a 9 or 10 mm to stop the ram part of the shock spinning.

hold on to the top mount, the power wrench delivers a short powerful burst, it wont make it spin if you hold it
