review as to buying one? try http://www.carsurvey.org
if its E46's, you want to stay away from the evo's and their evil VANOS managment systems - forever going wrong - and v.costly to fix!
get the earlier e46 m3's - far more reliable - and a lot cheaper!

Thing is Kolin most have been round the clock VERY hard to find one with decent miles and when you do you have to pay through the roof. Wouldn't mind an E46 M3 CSL though

Friend of mine paid 18k for a T plate E36 M3 Evo conv. 36k on the clock, estoril blue, and pretty much every factory extra you can think of!
Amazing car for the money if you can afford the maintenance

Seriously wouldnt buy an e36, the 46 is tonnes better. Wait a year and prices will drop you can get a 46 for mid 20s at the moment and I think theres a new M3 due late next year...

you mean E36, and if you mention the dreaded VANOS unit in front of my mate I think he would probably cry! His Evo has cost him a hell of a lot of $$$ so far...
