would a car pass mot with no door handles?????opening button is on the key fob.how would i go about mot??thinking of buying a car with smoothed door handles

if im not mistaken i think u need door handle so u would have to just buy standard doors from a scrapper and bang em on for the mot

Its not just a case of banging them on! Its not coloured bulbs or a de-cat you can just swap over. Corsa door handles are recessed and therefore a car with smoothed doors will will have had a plate welded over this recess and filler over the top. Not sure how legal it is - ive seen a few Bs de handled........

I believe the MOT states that you have to have one door handle for means of safety to get in, fire etc

no door handles are fine. the DOT have told me and others thats its fine.

no no no

mot states one manual means of entrance to the front cab of the vehical (not in as many words)

mines passed 3 years now everytime in 3 different garges

Faz rung the DOT, and the told him his smooth door handles are fine.

my car has just gone throught MOT with no door handles to pass an MOT u need buttens under the mirrors all the other talk is bull shit a car will pass with no door handles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

got mine smoothed on my c both sides as long as u have a button sumwhere on the car u will be alrite!! mine passed no sweat first mot btw!

also mines got no side repeaters on the wing got them smoothed as well got indicators on wing mirrors!

u do need a butten as they have to be able to enter the car from the out side if u have have it on the remote fob it will be inside the car with u. diffrent MOT place will give u diffrent ansers as some think its fine to have no buttens and some dont

mines failed last week for having no handles, had to buy two doors from scrappy, although i showed him that it can be opened from both outside and inside with the same means of control i reckon it is just down to the place u take it

well to be honest...if your stuck in your car whats the chances of them:

a) looking for a button
b) finding the button

think they'd just rip the door off and mangle your car
