any one ever looked into this?

170 cc ones go for about 2100 and the 250cc ones go for like 2700.

Seem quite cool, they aint highly geared but would be good around town and can drive them on full car licence with no helmet although i would.

anyone know of any hidden costs besides registration?

Buy the road pack, get it taxed - which happens to be extreemly cheap as its an agricultural vehicle - and road regestered.

I saw one in oban at the weekend and looked quite cool, dosnt look like there road legal as the indicators are very small and subtle and the front light is moulded well into the front

You might need to use different tyres though, as the off road ones aren't suited to tarmac really.

seen them in spain a couple of weeks ago and got me thinking, never seen anyone with a quad on the road except some old farmers in the country

insurance is the one i'm worried about, tax i'm guessing wud be the same as a bike which is feck all compared to cars! i'll be buying it new so mot shudnt be an issue

Yeah my mates got a wicked racing one !

Road legal and pretty fast, always on the main roads on it pimp style with a cap on backwards and down the seafront !

Racetech in Southend sell them, these quads are massive in the states at the mo !

I think they probably mean regestration and a years tax. Would be wierd having to regester it every year

Yea, we never regestered it or anything cos there was no point, but the people we bought it off offered to get it ready for road use...

wat bout insurance tho

theres a group of blokes bout 6 or 7 of em that ride rund this way on em, they cant be road legal tho cos no plates, mirrors etc

i love it, was getting ready for a 250 trials bike but think the quads a better idea,

you can also get alarms for them which is pretty cool, especially if you have a key fob which blips the indicators and makes a bleep bleep sound

they dont say anything about reverse tho

Probably no reverse on them ones, they're easy enough to dougnut around cos they have independent front and rear brakes, they are pretty light too so if you do need to go backwards you can push
