I think because of data protection, if you phone up the court they can't tell you. They might post the verdicts up in the court though? I'm not a criminal so I dunno...

I work in a Crown Court, and we can't give info out over the phone. The court is open to the public though so it wouldn't exactly be a secret.

Also, very rarley will the judge sentence on the day of the verdict. These days they get a pre-sentence report and sentence a couple of weeks later.

Depends if it was crown or magistrates

If it was magistrates then the result will have been input onto the computer straght away - although they wont tell you over the phone anyways so it dont matter how quick they do it

They input results straight away at the Crown too, but the computer system isn't public so doesn't matter either lol.
