i wanna stick a new lump in my corsa






im 17 been passed 6 months

its 1.2 8v at mo and im bored of going slow

what u guys rekon is shud get and how much will it all cost??

1.4 16v, cheap ish to insure, lots of tunning potential (see my spec, keith pipers etc)

i seen em advertised for £225 how much u rekon it would cost to be fitted ?

can u post ur spec i dunno how to see it im new to the forum

depends, contact the ppl of here who do them, i would guess around £300-£400

i see well my insurance is £540 corsa_1.0L so im willing to pay around a grand for a better car ..

u guys rekon i shud keep this car and change engine or buy a new one cos i think it looks alright with a few more mods it will look better

e.g

mirrors colour coded
clear side repeaters
new engine
bumpers?

18 in december but its shit going slow haha

i can afford around a grand to £1200 insurance

i think the 1.6 is a no no cos of ya age, the 1.4 is the more realistic one to go for, and once ya sorted the conversion a 1.6 will slot straight in at a later date with no hassle cos ya already done what needed when the 1.4 went in.

my m8 went straight from 1.2 to 1.6 double over head cammed civic with 1 years no claims and he managed to get insured

most insurance companies wont touch you cause its an engine conversion, better off buying a new one with 1.4 in.

If you're serious just change the car. Far cheaper and easier to insure a standard group 6 factory thing than an oddball modified thing. Plus you get electric bits, new interior, PAS etc. and the ability to resell it.
