right i know nuthing when it comes to body work/painting/sanding/filling etc.
I got my pillars welded there about 9 months ago but i neveer bother to paint them just stuck a big dollop of vasiline on them.
What i wann know is what filler to use what sandpaper what primer to use.

You'll need to grind the welds back first, you'll be there for a week with sandpaper. Grade of sandpaper depends on what primer you're using, as thats a rather large panel I'd suggest having it professionally done if you're only starting.

yeah i've grinded back the welds already... might have a mate look at the rest... me and paint dont mix

after you have ground back the welds the surface should be pretty flat. make sure the surface is grase free from your vaseline. you can use the normal p38 filler you can get halfords. sandpaper wise, after you have applied the filler shape it with 120, getting finer as you get nearer to finishing. you will prob need to refill 4 or 5 times to get it perfect. what colour is your car? are you thinking of spraying it yourself?
