The dude I know with the E36 Evo had a loan of an E46 M3 last weekend.
that poor poor car got a fcukin thrashing mate!

Lovin the sound of the newer ones though, this one had a twin Shnitzer zausts from the factory (apparently about £1K extra )

poncy traction / launch control was a pain in the ass though, took about an hour to figure how to turn the cnut off

To be honest, the E46 was just a nicer car to look at and to listen to. The performance is almost identical to the E36

But that fcukin soooound above 5k rpm is awesome, it just wanted to rev more and more .... then the tyres poured with smoke so we had to stop going round in little circles!

(poor car, hope the nice lady that owns it doesnt see this! might have to delete in a min )

^ get the dude with the E36 Evo to go to a BMW dealership and ask for a test drive of a new one, they are hardly gonna say no now are they

could even try and blag a go in a CSL but I dont think there are many left for sale now
