ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=5915
Also just got a new cooler for it too
maze 4 GPU Cooler
http://www.coolercases.co.uk/details/wc_maze4_gpu_block_black.htm
all in for just under £180...
also, from the user reviews, the 9800Pro is running the R360 core (same core on the 9800XT)... so *hopefully* be able to flash a 9800XT BIOS on the card & get a £300 card for less than half the price

There's no point mate, the gains of flashing to an XT aren't worth the risk of messing it up.
The 9800Pro can more than handle the latest games at fantastic resolutions.
I run Doom3 at 1152x1024 on high graphic settings and it runs lovely. Granted the processor does a lot of the work in Doom but the 9800 is still a top card.

if it goes tits up I'll stick with my Ti card for now
i'm going to have a go with rivatuner see how much difference enabling the 4 idle pipelines will be if it is an R360 core, and if they work, I'll try a flash.

forgive me if i'm wrong but i thought all 8 pipelines were open on the 9800 Pro, at least they are on mine.
The only thing that the flash does is provide more voltage to the core and memory. Enabling you to clock to XT speeds.

no from what i've gathered there are a few pipelines which remain closed on the 9800pro, aswell as a few extra shaders/features...

i knew this was the case with some versions of the 9500 non-pro. You could flash it and turn it into a 9700Pro.
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/9700_to_9800_Series.html
all of these have 8-pixel pipelines.
Not sure what make 9800Pro you're going for...
